What are Weight Loss and Management Services?

Our weight loss and management services are designed to support individuals who are obese and trying to lose weight. Losing weight can be difficult and demotivating if your hard work isn’t reflected on the bathroom scales. However, losing weight and improving your health can significantly increase your quality of life, especially for those who are clinically obese. That’s where our services come in.

How Do Weight Loss and Management Services Work?

Our weight loss and management services work in various ways to support your weight loss efforts. These services can help by:

  • Stopping your body from absorbing a portion of the fat you consume
  • Making you feel less hungry
  • Limiting your appetite and cravings

These mechanisms help support your weight loss efforts, making it easier to achieve and maintain your goals.

Are Weight Loss and Management Services Safe?

All health interventions come with risks, and weight management services are no different. However, our services are available through prescription only, meaning you cannot access them without first being assessed by a healthcare professional. This ensures that your pharmacist can evaluate your suitability before providing any treatment, ensuring the safest and most effective approach for you.

Who Can Use Weight Management Services?

Our weight management services are intended for people who are clinically obese, which is defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or above. If you have diabetes and your BMI is 28 or above, you may also be eligible for these services.

These services are not intended for long-term use. They are designed to support weight loss while you also make lifestyle changes, such as adopting healthy eating habits and increasing your activity levels.

Who Shouldn’t Use Weight Management Services?

You shouldn’t use weight management services if:

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You are taking anticoagulants such as warfarin
  • You have problems absorbing nutrients
  • You have liver problems

Before you can access these services, our pharmacist will ensure it is safe for you to do so.

How Our Service Works

  1. Initial Consultation: Start by booking a consultation with one of our knowledgeable pharmacists. During this consultation, we will discuss your medical history, current health status, and weight goals to determine if our services are suitable for you.
  2. Prescription and Treatment Plan: If our services are deemed appropriate, our pharmacist will provide a prescription and a detailed treatment plan. This plan will include information on how to follow the treatment, potential side effects, and what to expect during the process.
  3. Regular Follow-ups: We offer regular follow-up consultations to monitor your progress and address any concerns you may have. These follow-ups are crucial to ensure the treatment is working effectively and to make any necessary adjustments.
  4. Convenient Dispensing and Delivery: Once prescribed, we will provide your weight management treatments. For added convenience, we offer a delivery service to ensure your treatments arrive safely at your home.
