At MEDSCLINIC, our highly qualified pharmacist can prescribe treatments for a range of acute medical conditions.
We offer NHS prescription services for the following seven common conditions where patients do not need to see a GP. This service may include prescriptions for antibiotics or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines:
- Earache (ages 1–17)
- Impetigo (ages 1 and over)
- Infected insect bites (ages 1 and over)
- Shingles (ages 18 and over)
- Sinusitis (ages 12 and over)
- Sore throat (ages 5 and over)
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women (ages 16–64)
We also offer Private Prescription Services for conditions not covered under the NHS criteria due to age or the risks associated with certain symptoms.
How Can You Use This Service?
It’s simple and convenient. You can access this service in any of the following ways:
- Walk-in to our store with your NHS Number and fill out the form for clinical assessment.
- Call your GP surgery and ask them to send an email referral to MEDSCLINIC for Minor Ailments.
- Visit the NHS 111 website at https://111.nhs.uk/triage/check-your-symptoms and answer the relevant clinical questions. This will allow you to send a 111 referral to MEDSCLINIC Pharmacy for further assessment and treatment.
